The major part of The Déirdre Kelly Artists Book Collection dates from 1986 – 2003 HARDWARE GALLERY, LONDON.
A place for exhibitions, displays, readings & performance as well as a means of distribution, Hardware presented the space as a format for engaging viewers with the book as primary medium: book works as visual art. During this time Déirdre Kelly curated a series of significant exhibitions featuring artists publications:- Curved Space (1986), Threshold (1993). The collection that remains reflects this period of transition and the ability of the artist to embrace & harness the new.; featuring books by artists including Basil Beattie, Les Coleman, Ron King, Richard Long, Simon Lewandowski, Bruce McLean, Christopher Taylor and Sandy Sykes amongst others,
